Archiving Policy

The Journal of Sustainability and Agriculture Economics (JSAE) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. Our archiving policy is designed to safeguard the integrity and availability of scholarly works for future generations.

Digital Archiving

  1. Institutional Repositories:

    • All published articles in JSAE are deposited in reputable institutional repositories to ensure long-term digital preservation and accessibility. This includes university and library repositories that comply with recognized standards for digital archiving.

  2. LOCKSS:

    • JSAE participates in the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program. LOCKSS provides a decentralized and distributed preservation system that ensures copies of the journal are stored in multiple locations worldwide, enhancing redundancy and security.

  3. CLOCKSS:

    • JSAE is also a member of the CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) initiative. CLOCKSS is a community-governed archive that preserves digital content for the long term. It ensures that journal content remains accessible even in the event of a catastrophic loss.

  4. Portico:

    • To further enhance digital preservation, JSAE partners with Portico, a leading digital preservation service. Portico archives electronic scholarly literature and ensures it remains accessible and usable over time.

Self-Archiving

  1. Author's Institutional Repository:

    • Authors are encouraged to deposit a copy of their published article in their institution's repository. This practice ensures wider dissemination and accessibility of the research.

  2. Personal Websites and Social Media:

    • Authors may also archive the final published version of their article on personal websites, academic social networks (such as ResearchGate and Academia.edu), and other platforms, provided they include proper attribution and a link to the official publication on the JSAE website.

Permanent Identifiers

  1. DOI:
    • Each article published in JSAE is assigned a unique Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The DOI provides a permanent link to the article, ensuring it can always be found and cited accurately, regardless of any changes to the journal's website or other online platforms.

Accessibility and Usability

  1. Open Access:

    • JSAE is an open access journal, making all content freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.

  2. Format and Compatibility:

Contingency Plans

    • Multiple copies of all published articles are stored in geographically distributed locations to protect against data loss due to technical failures, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events.

    • Regular backups of the journal's digital content are performed to ensure data integrity and quick recovery in case of any data loss incidents.
